As a tech reviewer, I daily get questions about steps
calculation accuracy of fitness bands. From past 5 months I am using Intex
Fitrist band, which is one of the best budget fitness band.
One of its biggest competition is the Xaiomi Mi Band, which
I had used earlier. I have made a dedicated video on Mi band vs Fitrist , you
can check that on my YouTube channel
But today I don’t want to compare any band, but want to
clear doubts of people about fitness band racking system. Those of you having a
budget fitness band, might wonder, why sometimes it shows more steps and sometimes
less? Or why it is counting my hand movement as steps?
The answer to both the questions is same, it tracks steps through
the movement of your hand, remember it is not inserted inside your body or
somehow connected inside, so it will not use your nerves to track the steps.
A budget fitness band uses an accelerometer to track your
movements and as you wear it to your wrist, it tracks it through your hand movements.
Therefore you may sometimes find it showing more than
actual, that means you may have accidentally made a big movement or maybe
sometimes you may not have moved your hand enough while waking to count it as a
step.
But don’t worry light movements are not counted, you are
getting an amazing thing for the price. If you still have doubts comment below
