OnePlus One - Flagship Killer

OnePlus a Chinese Handset Manufacturer Launched OnePlus one creating a sensation in mobile world .OnePlus reffer it as "Flagship Killer" . Which it truly is . With Great specs and lower price it is the best smartphone to buy . But getting OnePlus one is not that easy . First it is available in India only through amazon.in that too through an invite system . For some users invite system is a disappointment and for some it is very exciting . OnePlus one is very controversial device as the Cyanogen has made micromax its official partners in India which means users in India will not get a cyanogen mod update . But OnePlus is working on their own custom ROM "Oxygen" . I don't know will Oxygen ROM can make the impact as big as Cyanogen or not but I can Surely tell keeping aside its OS controversies OnePlus one is a beast in Smartphone Market

Design 

The OnePlus one is a very good looking device . It has a sheer black front frame  within a slightly curved metal bed. On the front display is protected by Gorilla Glass and the three capactive navigation button placed at the bottom are barely visible when the device is not on. There are multi coloured led notification light and earpiece in the front with no OnePlus one branding . On the back in India we are getting only sandstone black model. It feels like a rough metal . It gives good grip . Sandstone black Finnish is liked my many and I personally like it . There is a OnePlus one logo on the back just below the Camera. It is pretty light at 162g .

Display

OnePlus one have a big 5.5 inch 1080x1920 pixel Display ,With a pixel density of 401 ppi. It has a touch sensitive layer fused to display panel which OnePlus one clamis to make the screen far stronger than the other displays out there . The Full HD IPS Display has great viewing angles and the outside visibility is also legible . Overall the Display is pretty good. It supports multi touch upto 10 fingers .The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. 

Hardware

The biggest attraction of OnePlus one is its hardware specs . OnePlus one has Snapdragon 801 SOC,which is a quad core processor clocked at 2.5GHz .It also has the adreno 330 GPU. It comes with 3GB of ram and 64 GB internal storage in india for now .OnePlus one doesnot have a MicroSD card slot that is 64GB is only what you get . for some users it may be disappointing but in my view 64 GB is enough even for power users . With these High end specs OnePlus one is a beast of a device . It is very fast and can handle any kind of app , games etc

Software

OnePlus one comes with Cyanogenmod 11s which is a custom build ROM build on Android 4.4.2 Kitkat .Cyanogen is the best alternative for android . In cynanogen you can customise everything from status bar to notification center and even the navigation buttons -you can switch between on screen and capactive navigation keys . But as we know that Cyanogen will not give further updates to OnePlus one users in India because of its exclusive deal with micromax . But no need to worry ,OnePlus one is building its own custom ROM "Oxygen",and you can always flash cyanogen latest version through Roms available on Internet 

Camera 

OnePlus one comes with a 13 MP rear facing camera .It has Sony Exmor BSI Image sensor with a F/2.0 aperture .The camera is not good as on some high end device but for the price which your getting the device , Camera is very capable and pretty decent . Camera interface is of Cyanogen mod 11s with HDR , burst and many more modes capabilities . It can record 4k videos but it records better in full HD 1080p

The front camera of OnePlus one is a 5 MP shooter capable of recording 1080p video . The front camera is also very decent for making video calls and taking selfies

Overall the camera is very good at the given price but not as good as other flagship devices 

Battery

OnePlus one has a massive 3100 mAh Battery . The battery is non removable . But the back cover is removable . Battery performance is excellent for this device . one of the best battery performance in the market . It can easily last upto 1.5 days even with some heavy usage .

Verdict 

OnePlus one has rightly said to be the Flagship killer . At a price of 21000 you cant expect more . The Phone is gives Value for money .Overall performance wise phone is excellent with mediocre camera and a decent battery life . Online availability that through an invite system is the biggest  hurdle in OnePlus one way . It faces very tough competition from xiomi mi4 , HTC Desire 820 and even nexus 5 .
