Moto E (gen 2) First Impressions

Motorola recently released the 2nd generation Moto e . Motorola has upgraded its popular pocket   friendly smartphone Moto e . Moto E (gen 2) has recieved some worthy hardware updates and comes with latest Android lollipop Update . Moto E (gen 2) comes in two variant

Design

Moto E (gen 2) is very similar to the old Moto E in terms of design with same curvy design and  good to hold back . In Moto E (gen 2) there is only one metal grill in the front with speaker .The phone looks pretty good for a pocket friendly phone . In older moto e you can change the back shell but in new moto e you can also change the grippy band that runs around the edges ,allowing to create your own design by mix matching colours. The phone is of 145g

Display

The most significant difference between the older and newer moto e is the larger screen . Moto E (gen 2) comes with a 4.5 inch Display . The resolution is not changes it is the same 540x960 IPS display having a slightly lower pixel density of 245 ppi

Hardware

Moto E (gen 2) has got a worthy hardware update ,it is now powered by a Snapdragon 410 quad core chipset instead of dual core clocked at 1.2 GHz. RAM is same 1 GB like the previous version 

while the internal storage has been increased to 8 GB and you can install a MicroSD card upto 32.  GB. GPU has also noticed an upgrade from Adreno 302 to Adreno 306. 

Moto E (gen 2) has also seen a battery update ,the new version comes with a 2390 mAh battery ,which should battery than previous version as it is also running battery efficient lollipop version

Software

Moto E comes with the latest flavour of android Lollipop ,Moto e first gen is yet to receive the lollipop update . Lollipop update brings flatter UI and some worthy new features

Camera 

Moto E (gen 2) has the same 5 MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture 4x digital some and some other features like burst and HDR mode . The flash is still missing but what can you except at this price . The biggest update in camera department is the front camera . Yes Moto E (gen 2) have VGA front facing camera for video calling and taking selfies. There is a new feature of launching the camera even when phone is on standby mode by quick double flick of your wrist

Verdict 

Through specs and features it looks like Motorola is again gonna rule the pocket friendly segment of phones through Moto E (gen 2). though it faces competition from some Indian handset maker and a worthy competitor Lumia 532
