Motorola Released the successor of its best selling budget smartphone Moto G which created a sensation in the smarphone market .Motorola released Moto G (gen2) back in September 2014 but still it is the budget phone . At Rs 12999 Moto G (gen2) is the rightful successor to the popular Moto G

Design
The new Moto G (gen2) takes a big leap forward in terms of design .Moto G (gen2) have two front chrome grills just like on Motorola's Moto E. which are also the speaker outlet .Phone's dimensions are 141.5x70.7x11mm .The phone is thick just like its predecessor at 10.99 and a bit heavy at 149 g . The front panel has a bigger display of 5 inch .The power and volume keys are placed on the right hand side of the device . Moto G (gen2) has a slightly curved rubberized soft touch matte finish back which feels very good to hold . Motorola logo is present at the back just below the camera
Display
The new Moto G (gen2) have a bigger 5 inch IPS LCD Display and have the same resolution of 720x1280 pixels having a pixel density of 294 ppi .The Display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 . Colour reproduction was good better than the older moto g . Viewing angles were also good and outdoor visibility under sunlight was legible
Hardware
Moto G (gen2) comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Quad Core Processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. It has Adreno 305 GPU for graphics and comes with 1 GB of RAM. The Device is fast and fluid . I didn't find any lag going through the apps . The phone scored 17976 is Antutu Benchmark test better than older moto g and canvas turbo but less than Xiomi Redimi 1S.
Phone comes with 16 GB of internal storage out of which users get around 12.9 GB. Thank god Moto G (gen2) comes with the must needed MicroSD card slot which was missing from older Moto G . It also comes with sensor like Accelerometer,Gyro,Proximity,Compass.
The phone comes with 2070 mAh Non removable Battery which can easily last you one day even with 3G on .
Gaming performance was also pretty decent . I was able to play games like subway surfers and temple run lag free .
Camera
Moto G (gen2) have a improved 8MP autofocus rear camera with LED Flash .Moto G (gen2) sports a 2MP front camera for taking selfie . The rear camera can record video at 720@30fps. The camera comes with no. of features like Geo tagging ,Touch focus,Face Detection ,HDR,Panorama
. Overall the camera is pretty decent even in low light conditions and better than that of older moto g. The camera is also pretty good for taking selfies and video calling.Rear camera also have a feature of slow motion video recording .
Software
Moto G (gen 2 ) comes with Android 4.4 Kitkat but is now up gradable to latest Lollipop android version which comes with flatter UI and some new features . Though some users have complaint about phone getting slow after Lollipop update . we'll see how Motorola solves the problem with next update
Verdict
With no Doubt Moto G (gen2) is one of the best budget phone out there . Moto G (gen2) is a worthy improvement to older Moto G with bigger screen , SD card slot and better display.Phone is also very good for taking pictures and selfie . Moto G (gen2) faces a fierce competition fom the recently launched Lumia 640 XL and many Indian handset makers devices and also Xiomi Devices
